How satisfied are you with this response? RandyFormanek Replied on January 8, I must say, however, that after installing all of the updates that were released on Tue. Beware, however, all sales final since TG was sold. I have tried uninstalling the LPT driver and re-starting with still the same results. This thread is locked. I have the same question

USB on Parallel Adapter Printer Cable AK12 Adapter USB to Lpt Centronics

Sorry this didn’t help. I will report again if I run into any problems.

I’ve got an HP DesignJet A1 printer which must be at least 15yrs old but is built like a tank and still keeps working – with the brief exception of the time it laid idle after Microsoft quietly junked the Parallel port. I was faced with spending 3 hours putting Win8.

However the drivers for those printers are up to date. But since it sounds like this would only work till the next reboot, instead I plugged the USB cable from the printer into my KVM switch.

Even when resuming from Sleep mode, I am able to print without any issues.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has been successful with this action. Shame the Chaps at Microsoft haven’t a clue, Just saying lt every time, they must think we are simple. This created another problem with the customer’s line of business program that runs in the VM.

Since I only use one computer at a time at least for printingthis seems like the best solution, though it obviously is unique llpt my situation.

Ironically the broadband modem uses an Open Source operating system! I have tried them and the printing has stopped in the middle of a job This site in other languages x.

I have the same question In reply to prestonpdx’s post on January 8, The OKI was set as default printer.

I have seen a couple other posts where al12 converter parallel to usb cables do not work well. When I click on print in Word I first received the error: Thanks for the temporary workaround!

Yes this is a completely ridiculous. I think lp cables sometimes do not translate the language all the time and can corrupt data as it flows.

RandyFormanek Replied on January 8, Several Microsoft support engineers responded to my pleas for help in this forum, and I had two hour-long interactive sessions with Microsoft engineers where they took control of my computer. Again compleltly not happy but now I am printing.

After numerous uninstalls and re-installs I found that the problem was connected with the integral LPT port. I tried all of the recommended fixes on this forum but they didn’t work. Thanks for marking this as the answer. Tell us about your experience with our site.

PhilBixby Replied on January 9, Of course it would disappear when WIN 10 lost the parallel port. This could be fixed by making another printer the default.

Unlike the fixes to the LPT port in Windows, the conversion cable fix will survive rebooting. Ltp, however, all sales final since TG was sold. Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers attempt to trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services.
